FAQ - New Coaching Engagement Onboarding Period

A list of the most frequently asked coach questions that come up during the onboarding period of a new coaching engagement

How do I conduct successful consultation calls to increase my chances of being selected by a coachee?

To learn more about how to have a successful consultation call, please view this Help Center article

I’ve been matched with a coachee but they haven't reached out to schedule a consultation yet.  Should I reach out to them?

It's absolutely at the coach’s discretion, but in some cases coaches do reach out to coachees via the messaging tool that have not yet reached out/scheduled a chemistry call to introduce themselves and let the coachee know they'd be excited to meet with them for the chemistry call if the coachee is so inclined. Some coaches do this as a best practice, while others do not, so it really does come down to what feels right to you, and you may want to consider experimenting with both approaches.

How many matches does each coachee get during their coach selection process?

Coachees are initially matched with 2 coaches and most coachees then move through a selection process with those 2 coaches.

However, coachees can self-serve two additional matches on the platform if they have any doubts based on previous chemistry calls or coach profiles.

My coachee didn’t select me as their coach until months into the engagement.  Do we get an extension on our engagement because of this?

The onboarding period is part of the subscription period and the end date does not change based on how long it took a coachee to select their coach. It is possible that some coachees may take more time to select their coach and as such they may end up having access to fewer sessions.

If your coachee onboards late, finds value in coaching, and wants to continue beyond the end date, we encourage you to let us know; this feedback can influence a customer’s decision to extend a coachee’s engagement or to add them to future cohorts.

How does the subscription period work?

Through AceUp, coachees receive coaching access for a select period of months based on our contract with their employer. They also receive a set number of sessions per month that do not roll over. Within this subscription period, coachees must initiate and complete their onboarding, which includes an intake survey and coach selection. This means that a coachee’s onboarding time is part of their subscription period. If your coachee wishes to continue coaching beyond their subscription end date please reach out to support@aceup.com for support on how to proceed.
