You can use any conferencing services including Zoom or through phone chosen by you and your coach for coaching sessions on the AceUp platform.
- To have coaching sessions on the AceUp platform, you and your coach can connect through any preferred conferencing services or via phone. It is important to discuss with your coach and agree on how to connect in advance.
- For any scheduled coaching session, your coach will provide a meeting link (e.g. a Zoom link), any joining instructions for using that particular conferencing service, or simply a phone number to connect. On the session card for a scheduled session, click on "Meeting Details" you will be able to view the link, any joining instructions if provided by your coach, or the phone number:
(Click the down arrow to view the full meeting details) - 30 minutes prior to your scheduled session time, clicking on "Join" the meeting link will be opened automatically (except for phone number).
- Zoom or other conference service links and join instructions (if any) will be included in the "Session Confirmation" email and the calendar invite. If your coach makes any changes to how to join a coaching session for a scheduled session, you will also receive a "Session Update" email with the updated meeting information and calendar invite.
Best Practices
- Always double check if your local device settings are ready for a video or audio call before any coaching session. Make sure your microphone, camera, and speakers are plugged into your computer and turned on (the microphone isn’t muted). If you connect any of your hardware using USB, check if you need to install software from the device manufacturer. Make sure other programs on your computer aren’t using your microphone, camera, or speakers.
- It is important to communicate clearly beforehand with your coach whether you will use video or a phone call so that you and your coach can properly conduct your session.
- If you have any questions regarding a specific conference service being used for your session, we recommend contacting the conference service provider or reaching out to your coach directly first, as AceUp only hosts the meeting links inputted by your coach.
